Water, oil, stain and dirt repellent high-performance wood protection
WoodGuard® Professional is a new-generation product for protecting bare or renovated wood. It penetrates deep into all the fibres of the wood to make the wood completely impermeable to water, grease and stains. WoodGuard® Professional protects the wood, enhances its durability and simplifies its maintenance.
Once applied, WoodGuard® Professional is a completely colourless product that does not alter the structure and natural appearance of the wood (its figure, grain, etc.). It is a non-film forming product that allows the wood to breathe. It does not peel, blister or yellow.
NOTE: The greying of wood is a natural phenomenon that can be slowed but not prevented by WoodGuard® Professional. To protect against UV light and greying, use a colour treatment from our WoodGuard® Color range.
WoodGuard® Professional can be applied indoors and outdoors to all bare wood, e.g. pine, spruce, Douglas fir, pressure-treated wood, etc. It is ideal for treating weatherboarding, fencing, window shutters, floors, decking, panelling, garden furniture, saunas...
  • Excellent protection against water, dirt and stains.
  • Significantly reduces moisture absorption.
  • Limits surface growth of moss and lichen.
  • Colourless after drying: preserves the natural appearance of the wood.
  • Does not yellow.
  • Non-film forming, allows the wood to breathe.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Ready to use and easy to apply.
Apply with a graining brush or roller.

Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
  • New wood: apply the product to wood that is clean, dustfree, sound and dry.
  • Resinous or greyed wood: clean with WoodGuard® Revitalizer, rinse thoroughly, clean off all dust and dry the wood.
  • Damaged wood: sand down to bare wood, clean off all dust and dry the wood.
  • Always prepare wood according to the current applicable codes of practice.
  • Ensure substrate has all the characteristics required for longevity.
  • The WoodGuard® and WoodGuard® Color ranges cannot prevent the wood from splitting if it is exposed to excessive variations of hygrometry. It is therefore recommended to apply our products when the wood has reached a low hygroscopic equilibrium. This condition can be measured easily because it occurs when the timbers have shrunk to their narrowest width, often less than the original width.
  • Use the product neat: do not dilute.
  • Shake the product well before use.
  • Do not apply during rain or in very hot weather. Ideal surface and air temperature 5°C to 30°C.
  • Test first on a small incospicuous area in the expected conditions and allow to dry for 24 hrs, particularly on resinous wood and exotic wood. Check the result by wetting the substrate.
  • Apply in the direction of the wood grain and if possible on all visible surfaces.
  • The substrate must be impregnated with two wet-on-wet layers until saturated.
  • Apply sparingly, removing all excess with a rag.
  • Protect from rain for 24 hrs and from oily deposits for at least 48 hrs.
  • Optimal performance is attained after 5 to 7 days.
  • Physical state at 20°C: Liquid.
  • Colour: Milky.
  • Odour: None.
  • pH: 8 ± 0.5.
  • Boiling point [°C]: 100°C.
  • Relative density: 1.01 ± 0.005.
  • Solubility in water [vol/vol]: Total.
  • Flashpoint [°C]: Not applicable.
Coverage depends on how porous the wood is. The following values are for guidance only: 145 to 170 g/m2 for 2 layers.
5 litres.
  • Store in a dry place at a temperature of between 5°C and 30°C.
  • Shelf-life: 24 months from date of manufacture, in original unopened can.
  • Household stains can be sponged off with a pH-neutral household detergent.
  • A maintenance layer is recommended. This depends on the exposure and on the wood. The layer must be applied before the product suffers any deterioration.

  • No petroleum-based solvents.
  • Silicone-free.
  • Safe and non-toxic.

  • Breathing protection: No breathing protection equipment is required under normal use conditions with suitable ventilation.
  • Hand protection: Wear latex gloves.
  • Skin protection: No skin protection or special clothing is recommended under normal use conditions.
  • Eye protection: If there is a significant risk of splashes, wear protective goggles.

  • On damp wood (moisture content > 16%).
  • Where micro-organisms or insects are present (pretreatment necessary).
  • Application, preparation and substrate not according to current French codes of practice DTU 59.1 (Paintwork), 42 (Weatherboarding), 36.1 (Woodwork), etc.
  • On sapwood.
  • Untested application on exotic or resinous wood.
  • On wood that has undergone a fire-resistance treatment.
  • On sharp edges (sharp edges should preferably be rounded to ensure continuity of product and thus avoid breaks in coverage).
