Clear primer for adhesion of two-component products to concrete
PrimerGuard®Special UHPCis a product designed to be used as a primer before applying two-component products from the Guard Industrie range – ProtectGuard®ColorTwo-component or AntiGraffitiGuard®Special Concrete on UHPC. Application of PrimerGuard®Special UHPC is essential to ensure the perfect final appearance and performance of the coating,PrimerGuard®Special UHPC promotes adhesion by its ability to bond strongly to UHPC. PrimerGuard®Special UHPC is a penetrating product, the substrate remains permeable to air and water vapour.
PrimerGuard®Special UHPC is used indoors and outdoors on vertical UHPC (> 28 days). It is intended to be applied before two-component products such as ProtectGuard®ColorTwo-component or AntiGraffitiGuard®Special Concrete.

Apply using an airless or HVLP gun or a roller. 
Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
  • Sand the roughness of the support if necessary then dust the support.
  • Apply the product to a surface that is clean, dust-free, grease-free and dry. To remove stains and marks of pollution use Guard Cleaner®Polluted Facades orGuard Cleaner®EcoSoiled Floors. For efflorescence, laitance or concrete bloom use Guard Remover®EcoEfflorescence & Cement.
  • Rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Use neat, do not dilute.
  • Shake the product well for 1 minute before use.
  • Always carry out a preliminary test.
  • Apply one coat from the bottom up.
  • It is essential that PrimerGuard®Special UHPC feel tacky to the finger. If it does not, apply another coat.
  • PrimerGuard®Special UHPC must be protected from dust for the first 3 hours following application.
  • PrimerGuard®Special UHPC is ready to receive a coat of another product after 4 hours at a temperature of 20°C.
  • However, we recommend applying the two-component product sold with it within a time window of 4 hours to 48 hours after application of PrimerGuard®Special UHPC.
  • Physical state at 20°C: Liquid.
  • Appearence: Whitish.
  • Odour: OdourlesspH: 5 ± 1.
  • Boiling point [°C]: 100°C.
  • Density: 1.01 ± 0.02.
  • Solubility in water [vol/vol]: Total.
  • Flash point [°C]: Not applicable.
Coverage depends on the porosity of the material. The figures below should be used only as a general guideline: 8 to 15 m2/litre.
 1, 5 and 25 litres.
  • Keep in a dry place (between 5°C and 30°C).
  • Storage: 12 months following the production date when kept in the original unopened container.
Environment-friendly product:
  • Water-based product.
  • Petroleum solvent and silicone free.
  • Safe and non toxic.
  • VOC < 1 g/l*.
  • It is essential to shake the can for 1 minute before use.
  • Do not treat surfaces until they have first been cleaned of all atmospheric pollution and all stains.
  • For ideal application and effective protection, it is essential that PrimerGuard®Special UHPC be used when the substrate temperature is between 10°C and 30°C.
  • Do not apply in rain or very hot weather. Air temperature between 5°C and 30°C.
  • Air humidity rate < 80%.
  • Material humidity rate < 5%.
  • Do not dilute or mix with another product.
  • Respiratory protection: We recommend to wear a P3 respiratory protection.
  • Hand protection: Wear protective gloves (EN 374-1:2003).
  • Skin protection: Wear protective clothing.
  • Eye protection: If there is a real risk of splashing, wear protective goggles.
  • If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or a specialist.
